The problem with your work ethic

I'm going to share this with you because, well, she said it.

Dad, what do you do when you are at work and you are done with your work?

I keep working.

No, I said when you are done with your work.

I'm never done with my work.

Pooh! That's no fun.

We have a bit..no, wait! A LOT of that going on around here. Daddy works constantly.

hey, did your kid crawl inside my head? I was just asking myself this the other day- what happens when I am done with this work?
how do I know when I am finished?

as always love stopping by here, you keep me thinking!

I suppose it's no fun, yet I'm glad our Daddy is never done with his work (at work -- which alas he does bring home). Otherwise we'd be in big trouble trying to keep a roof over our heads, eat, etc.

Ha. My answer is to go to the bathroom, walk around. talk to a co-worker or check email or faceebook. and if i have actually finished a task, rather than just run out of momentum, i often pause for some enjoyment of pleasure. there is always more work but tasks are finished. except for the stay at home parent, for whom half-tasks are finished. one finishes hanging clean clothes for the 10 minutes available but laundry has no beginning or end.

No, it's not any fun at all...

I think we all need to let our inner kids out and enjoy life a little more. (Hugs)Indigo

Oh yeah, I needed to hear that right now. Because when you work at home...and your job is now to make the whole world buy your book...that gets neurotic pretty quickly!
