To be honest, my head is still spinning, but to find out why I'm going to make you friend me on Facebook. While you're here let me tell you about the spots I'll soon be seeing before my own eyes:
Until next Monday, I'll be selling my voodoo charms over at the To Haiti With Love auction. Bid on anything there and you will reward yourself with your own infinite kindness.
On Sat., April 17 I'll be at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco for a 9 a.m.-noon workshop on "Parenting as a Spiritual Path," an incredibly intimate, practical and inspiring program on the spiritual vocation of parenthood. This occasion has been a year in the planning, and at $5 per person in advance, it will fill up fast, so call Carren Shelden at 415.749.6369 to save spots for you, your spouse or partner and all your friends. Space is limited. It is the first event at which my new book, Hand Wash Cold, will be available, and I won't let you forget it.
On Sun., May 2 I'll be launching the Kitchen Table Tour, my homemade brand of book readings for groups of friends in private homes, with a kick-off event in my own home and garden. And everyone is invited! (Note to self: Tell husband.) If you want me to come to your house, to meet your friends and hog your table, reading from Hand Wash Cold and making a big scene, just leave me a comment and tell me where you're at.
There will be more.

I am tempted to get on a plane to meet you at Grace Cathedral (one of my favorite-named places, and close behind the Rothko Chapel as one I love) ... I've already sent your link to my SF friends and told them to go go go!!!
If you find yourself in Boston on your kitchen table tour, I would be honored and humbled to host you ...
Come, come! Resistance is futile. And I'll be at the Rothko in May.
I know I'm not the LAST person on earth to not do facebook... but I don't, so I will have to wonder.
You are most welcome at my table in Dousman, WI, and at the table of our Family Dharma Group every first sunday of the month at Deer Park Buddhist Center outside of Madison, WI.
I am very near Dousman, WI so maybe on a tour through the Midwest, you could stop in Hartland, WI. I love the idea of the kitchen table talk! Can't wait to read the book; May isn't far away now!
I cordially invite you to my house in Columbus, OH. There are a lot of pictures of my kitchen table here: http://theadventuresoftadpole.blogspot.com/ .
Mindfulness and staying present in the now of my life really have carried me through what would have been a very tumultuous period in my life this past year and a half. So many ask me how, how do you do this pediatric cancer mom thing, and I just remember a monk laughing playfully at me in grad school at my very persistent scientific minded "hows" and then find myself smiling, when you stop asking, and just do what is before you this moment, you find the way.
You are very much invited to our sweet little home in the fourth corner of the united states, WA. I think it would be splendid to Gather and Love. I think I know a lot of people who would come on over for some good eats and good words.

(ps...my article got bumped until April...ugh).
You are very welcome at my table, here in a little corner of Fairfield County, CT.
I'm not sure where I'm at these days...I'm searching but I'm not always sure where to look. Thing is, no matter where I am, you and your words always seem to find me. So if you find yourself in the Middle, my table can be found in Minnesota.

I would LOVE to have you at my home in Santa Monica!
Well, shucks, Karen...
I live down on Laurel :^)Phoenix's mom. Perhaps I'll walk on up.

We would love to have you at our house in St Petersburg, FL. So if you're sick of the sunshine in California, please come check out ours! :D
And, if you're already in Florida seeing Kelly, let's meet up in Savannah!
How brilliant. By hook or by crook, someday we'll welcome you to Vermont.
I know you were just in Phoenix, but you weren't at my table (at least not in body, we've certainly talked about you around this table!), and I am inviting you to return. Please. Come sit at my table and read.
Mani,
You read my mind. All day I was thinking I could just pop in my Toyota and intentionally accelerate my way back. Let's do it.
what an amazingly fabulous idea, karen! if your travels take you all the way to the east coast, i know a whole bunch of mamas who would love to sit around my table with you... especially me :)
Hooray! Just let me know what I need to do on my end to help make it happen, and I will get on it asap and with joy.
I don't know. What if you're some kind of Buddhist serial killer? ;) My first (serious) thought was that my house is too small, my second was that I can't get enough friends together because mine are so scattered. I'm going to squelch my negative thoughts and give this some positive thought. :)
My table is only a stones throw from your table (Altadena) but you are welcome to hog it! I know a bunch of mommas who would happily come.
